Start with a Deep Clean

The best way to keep your car smelling nice is to keep it clean. Starting with a good deep cleaning will do much to help eliminate any unwanted odors. It will also help you stay motivated to keep it clean in the future. Don’t forget the floor mats and upholstery, as those can absorb a lot of unpleasant smells.

Clean Your Vents

No matter how clean you keep your vehicle, there are some spots that are easy to miss. The inside of your air vents is one of them. Dirt and germs can collect inside your vents, and the force of the air conditioning will continuously distribute their odors throughout your car. We suggest using a cotton swab or thin sponge to remove as much dirt as you can from your vents.

Try Baking Soda

Simply hang a few dryer sheets in front of your vents. The air circulation will have the same effect as before, but this time the scent will be much more pleasant. You can also stuff dryer sheets under the seats or in storage compartments.

Use Essential Oils

Essential oils can be a bit more costly, but the good news is that you only need a few drops. Dab a small amount onto cotton balls, and place them near the vents or in the seat pockets. Mix a few drops with water and use it to spritz the upholstery. Scents like peppermint have the added benefit of helping with nausea and car sickness.
